waltonwagner Go Ape in London’s Battersea Park

Every year, Nick and Jane challenge our two “social secretaries” at waltonwagner to try and come up with something new to treat the team for all their effort and hard work throughout the year, and this year was no different. After the resounding success of our previous team event back in December, when we traded the hustle and bustle of the city for a relaxing weekend in the East Sussex countryside, we thought it was time to escape the office for another team building day – this time, right in the heart of London. Since we like keeping fit and being outdoors just as much as we enjoy getting together for a delicious meal and a glass of wine, our soc sec duo (Charlie and Luke) decided to get the best of both worlds and came up with the perfect itinerary for the day.

After making our way to London’s Battersea Park, we kicked off the day with a two-hour tree-top adventure at Go Ape where, despite the un-summerlike weather, the 13-strong team had a fantastic time. Following a brief practice session and a safety demonstration from our tribe leader, we spent the morning flying down zip lines and navigating a series of different obstacles while being suspended 42 feet above the ground. Although some of us were a bit nervous about heights, everyone gave it a shot and successfully completed the course.

Once back on solid ground, the team headed off to the nearby Putt in the Park where we put our skills to the test in a round of mini golf. After two hours of fun, Associate Director Luke Harding was crowned winner, with Project Managers Chris Windsor and Luke Hamlin in second and third place.

Our third and final destination for the day was Bluebird Chelsea, a modern European bar and restaurant on King’s Road, where we took a well-deserved break from the morning’s activities and enjoyed a delicious three-course lunch with accompanying wines and cocktails. It was another fantastic, fun-filled day that everyone thoroughly enjoyed, and it gave us all an opportunity to unwind and welcome our new team members in true waltonwagner fashion.
